Congratulations to the varsity EHS girls for their first place team finish at the county meet. I am guessing that we were the first EHS team in any sport to compete in Alhambra, IL. We did run a great team race today! Individually we had many great performances. Today should give us confidence later in the season!

Freshman Ariane Wright finished in first place individually, winning her first high school race. Kayla Dowell continued her impressive running finishing as the fifth EHS runner and medaling. Briana Chamberlain ran a great race finishing in third place individually. Seniors Stephanie Dalla Riva and Emily Firsching won 4th and 8th place medals respectively. You two girls have done so much for this team all season, thank you!!

Congratulations to sophmore Lizzie Anderson who finished in first place individually in the JV race! Great Job Lizzie!

A special thank you to our seven EHS girls who stepped up and ran in a varsity invitational today! The varsity team today included Shanice Rice, Dehlia Jahns, Sierra Goldsmith, Cherelle Jackson, Breana Schuett, Ashley Benson and Kacie McGauley. These girls finished in second place as a team. Great Job Girls!!

Despite a sore knee, calf and shins senior Shanice Rice finished in first place among EHS runners and in 8th place overall. Great Job Shanice!!

We had five girls win individual medals by finishing in the top 20. Shanice Rice (8th), Dehlia Jahns (11th), Sierra Goldsmith (12th), Cherelle Jackson (19th) and Breanna Schuett(20th). Great Job Girls.

We ran well as a group today! Thank you for being at the school by 4:20 am and departing at 4:30am!! I know it was a long day! I am so proud of all of you for all that you sacrifice for running and cross country!!!

The varsity girls finished with a second place team trophy! Great Job Girls!

Ariane Wright finished in fifth place individually with a time of 18:44, I thought you looked strong at the end of your race and I see you taking it to the next level soon. Stephanie Dalla Riva earned an individual medal (19th place) while placing second on Edwardsville's team! Great Job Stephanie, you ran well today! Alex Wever scored for her team in her first race back from an injury, Great Job Alex!! Briana Chamberlain and Emily Firsching ran very nice races helping their team to a trophy!! Diane Frese continued her strong season with a good showing today.

Kayla Dowell had another great race earning a varsity spot at next Saturday's Peoria Invitational at Detweiller Park, keep up the great work Kayla!

Lizzie Anderson finished in 5th place individually in the Fresh/Soph race. Great Job Lizzie! In her first race this season due to an injury, freshman Kennedy Roderick finished in 8th place individually. Great Job Kennedy.

A special thank you to all parents and booster club members for their help with this large meet! We had 26 teams and much to do to make the meet possible.

Our varsity girls ran well today, finishing in second place as a team. The meet was won by Nerinx Hall, an all girls Catholic school in Webster Grove, MO.

Congratulations to the JV girls for their first place team finish! The JV girls team consisted of Kayla Dowell, Sierra Goldsmith, Lizzie Anderson, Ashley Benson, Breana Schuett, Laurin Wright and Emily Laurent. Great Job Girls!

Congratulations to both the EHS girls varsity and JV teams for their first place team finishes! I thought we ran well in the heat and humidity. Good job getting out tougher!

Sophmore Briana Chamberlain had a fantastic day, she ran a complete race and then finished it off with a kick towards the end edging out a tough Belleville East runner at the line! Sophmore Courtney Lybarger fought through a sore ankle to score for the varsity team. Freshman Ariane Wright helped her team with a low second place finish individually.

Junior Alex Wever finished in first place individually in the JV race! Great Job Alex! Senior Ellen Atwood continued her gritty racing with a strong top five showing in the JV race, Great Job Ellen! Sophmore Hannah Dalla Riva really worked her race today. Her time was one minute and thirty second faster than last year's Tiger Fall Classic. Freshman Lizzie Anderson bounced back nicely from sore shins to place fourth in the JV race. Juniors Dehlia Jahns and Sierra Goldsmith ran well helping the JV team to first place! Great Job Girls! Good luck at the Peoria Woodruff Invitational on Saturday!

A special thank you to all EHS girls for braving the rainny and muddy course conditions at today's meet! Hopefully we will get some dry weather next week for Wednesday's home invitational and Saturday's Peoria Woodruff Invitaional.

Congratulations to freshman Ariane Wright for her fifth place individual finish in the girls varsity race! This is a very high finish at this meet, especially for a freshman in her first high school invitational. The four girls in front of you included three all-staters last year, an individual state champion in class AA and the sectional champion in class AAA. Great Job Ariane!!

The girls varsity team finished in 8th place (191 points) behind first place Springfield High School (100 points) and second place O'fallon (101 points).Defending AA state champions Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin finished in third place as a team.

Congratulations to sophmore Briana Chamberlain for her first place individual finish in the Girls JV Race! You ran a great race Bri, I am proud ouf you! I know you had to work hard to overtake a pack of girls during the second mile and then showed the toughness to hold them off late in the race!

Briana Chamberlain along with fantastic races from seniors Kayla Dowell and Ellen Atwood paced the JV team to a second place team finish (68 points) behind first place O'fallon (62 points). Briana, Kayla and Ellen ALL finished in the top six individually. Great Job Girls!!

There was no team scoring at this meet. However, the EHS girls ran well as a team and individual efforts were fantastic! Keep up the hard work girls.

In her first high school race freshman Ariane Wright finished in sencond place individually. She ran with guts going out stride for stride with Maria Effinger of Belleville East. Great job Ariane, you hung with the top runner in the area for the majority of the race and still were able to finish strong!

Senior Emily Firsching ran a strong race. Her increased mileage and hard work is paying off.

Junior Alex Wever got out strong and fought her way through the middle and end of the race finishing sixth overall and second on her team. Great Job Alex!

Varsity Race - Senior Courtney Smith was the top finisher for Edwardsville with a 17th place medal and a 19:07 time. Lizzie Anderson (21st), Briana Chamberlain (23rd), Alex Wever (26th) and Courtney Lybarger (32nd) all ran strong races. These four girls all finished withing 33 seconds of Courtney Smith keeping our pack tight and close together. Great job girls! We need to keep up this good work and contiue to make the pack even tighter! Juniors Stephanie Dalla Riva and Megan Ruddy finished as the Edwardsville 6th and 7th runners with identical times of 19:56. Megan, I am very proud of your efforts this year. Stephanie, you will run varsity at Peoria this Saturday, I am so happy for you!!! I am very proud of your race at E.Peoria. Thankyou for all of your hard work and team leadership!!
