Team Gear

Parents and Athletes,

By now each athlete should have been given a copy of the cross-country gear items available from Gillan's Graphics. If you have not yet seen ordering information, be sure to check with Dave Goodhue or one of the coaches. We will be trying to get the first round of orders placed by this Friday. Orders should be sent to school no later than this Thursday, September 29th. This is a chance for parents to order team shirts, along with jackets, misc. shirts, hoodies, boxers, hats, etc. The prices are extremely close to cost........this is not a money making fundraiser, but rather an organized effort to help parents, athletes, relatives, and family members to be decked out in team apparallel. We will try to get an order form and price list on the board at some point in the near future. Thank you.

Team T-Shirt Money

Team Shirts
Parents and athletes, we need to collect money for our 2005 team shirts. The cost per shirt is $7.00. This is a recovery cost, as we are not profitting from these sales. The shirts were handed out in advance for picture and meet reasons. Please be responsible. Thank you.

Also, any one who did not buy a Tiger Classic t-shirt can now get one for $8.00 a piece. Again, we are trying to break even and clear out inventory. Thanks.

Former Tiger Timmon Keller (Care Package)

A former Edwardsville Tiger and huge contributor to the rise of X-C and Track & Field at EHS is currently serving in Afghanistan. I am still in contact with Timon as he always keeps up with the progress of the program. I thought it would be nice to send him a care package. I have his address. I'm interested in things that he doesn't get much like candy (non-chocolate b/c of shipping), sports magazines, tiger team stuff, etc... If you would like to contribute. Please bring this items to school to me, or parents can bring something to the Tuesday, September 20th Booster Club Meeting. Thanks in advance.

Saturday, September 24th 2005 (Hancock)
Saturday, October 22nd 2005 (I.H.S.A. Regional)
*Non-varsity athletes will be able to take the Saturday, October 22nd exam.

X-C/Track & Field athletes WILL be able to test on these dates:
Saturday, December 10th 2005
Saturday, February 11th 2006
Saturday, April 8th 2006
Saturday, June 10th (2006)
*It is a good idea for sophomores entering their junior year to take this one.
Note: Juniors will take the ACT as part of the PSAE state examinations in April of 2006. However as it is not a national test date scores will not count for NCAA consideration.

Out of Town Cell Phone Clarification

Cell phones (no cell phones are to be used after lights out on Friday. Call to check in with parents or significant others before then. Once we get to the course to warm up, put the cell phones away until after your race)

You of course should call your parents/athlete to check in safely. After lights off put them away and at the course when its time to be with the team and warm up put them away until after you have run. Stay focused and don't let the phone become a distraction.
