Sectional Champs!!!

Congratulations to the EHS Girls X-C Team on bringing home the first Sectional Title in school history.

The Tigers scored 48pts. to win the title over Mahomet-Seymour (84pts.) in the 20team affair.

The Tigers were able to place 4th, 5th, 7th, 11th, and 28th for the win.

Courtney Smith (4th), Lauren Heidbrink (5th), and Liz Speicher (7th) all achieved All Sectional Status. Lia Saunders was able to finish 11th despite some hydration issues and Kristin Hodge (Fr.) continues her hot running sewing up the scoring for the Tigers.

The win was bittersweet however. Jamie Kantner (Jr) finished the race on pure determination but will not be able to overcome the knee injury that has hampered her the last three weeks. She will be replaced at the state meet by Kaci Smith (So.) who was a part of last year's state qualifying team. Laura Bevis (Jr) will also remain in the lineup for the injured Leah Bateman.

Congratulations on a great season Jamie and Leah. You helped bring our team to new heights this year. We know you'll be ready to go come track season.

To the girls running, the task is not yet finished. The state meet is next Saturday, November 5th at Peoria's Detweiller Park. A travel itinerary will be forthcoming. Let's come home the best team in school history.

A special thank you to the Booster Club and all the parents who put on a great meet. Thank you to Mr. Bohnenstiehl, Mr. McNamara, and Coach Dougherty for all your support.

Courageous at County

Congratulations to the Girls on securing the Madison County Championship for the 2nd year in a row. The Tigers ran without anyone in their regular varsity lineup and were still able to secure the victory due to 4 Tigers medaling and placing in the top ten:
Nikki Hausman (1st)
Kaci Smith (4th)
Kristin Hodge (5th)
Laura Bevis (7th)

The courage award of the day goes to both Nikki Hausman and Chelsea Coley. Nikki returned from a 2 meet absence due to a knee ailment to win the County Championship. Chelsea has been hampered by a hip injury that has kept her out of competition for the last two weeks as well. She was able to muster enough strength to be the 5th scorer and secure the victory.
